In response to the growing public interest in cooking, and as an opportunity to present in its entirety the rich and archaic layer of folk vocabulary related to the everyday and festive meals of Bulgarians, the Section for Bulgarian Dialectology and Linguistic Geography at the Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin Institute of Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences gave rise to two projects: the compilation of a Bulgarian Dialect Culinary Dictionary (BDCD) and the creation of a Bulgarian Dialect Culinary Dictionary (BDCD) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. "Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin" at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, two projects were conceived: the compilation of a Bulgarian Dialect Culinary Dictionary (BDCD) and the creation of an Interactive Culinary Map of the Bulgarian Language Territory (ICMT).
